CBC Music App Released on iPhone

CBC, Canada’s public broadcaster, has followed in the footsteps of its NPR and BBC cousins and have launched its own music portal, as well as an iPhone app. Though much in the content can be a consolidation of its existing channels, such as Radio two and Radio three, it also sources music from 13 genres, equating to 40 music stations of Canadian and international talent.

CBC is launching its music portal which not simply brings live- and commercial-free radio streams to users, but in addition its vast collection of Canadian artists on demand. The web site provides listeners with speciality content like live concerts from Deadmau5 along with a Whitney Houston tribute, and also what other listeners are jamming to. The iPhone app, in comparison, is very sparse for the moment, only permitting users to listen to commercial-free radio across genres like Pop, Hip-Hop, Electronic, Classical and even a Leonard Cohen station.

Latest Rumors: iPhone 5 release set for Summer 2012

Nicely, based on a Daiwa Securites report relayed by Digitimes, Apple will introduce the iPhone 5 at WWDC 2012, scheduled to take place in June. If this can be indeed the case, all you iPhone upgraders greater get your wallets ready in time for Summer.

If these most current rumors are true, it would fall in line with previous Foxconn sources that revealed Apple’s iPhone 5 was gearing up for production for a summer 2012 release.

A summer 2012 release for the 6th generation iPhone would match the previous iPhone trend that was recently broken by the iPhone 4S release in October. Up until the iPhone 4S, the phones had been traditionally released during summer.

With that being mentioned, it is also unusual for Apple to reveal such a significant item like the iPhone 5 at such a high profile setting as the Worldwide Developers Conference. Apple traditionally hosts its personal event when unveiling a item like the iPhone as to not share with or steal the thunder from other releases.

Previous sources have rumored a variety of iPhone 5 prototypes “floating around” sharing prevalent capabilities like a 4+ inch display and symmetrical in thickness.

Whilst more iPhone 5 particulars are specific to emerge over the course from the next few months, early rumors point to an iPhone 5 with a larger screen, 4G LTE help, an A6 processor, and maybe built-in NFC functionality.
